Skill strength describes how capable your people are in a skill you already have. Coverage gap describes how much of a required skill your workforce is short of. TalentOS reports both separately, because a skill can be strong in three people and still be a critical gap for a fifty-person department.

The platform ships with a curated library of skills and occupations, with occupation-to-skill mappings used to derive requirements. Semantic matching resolves differently-worded skills to the same underlying capability instead of treating them as separate entries.
